OC's That Can Replace Brian Johnson

So, after scrolling through X (Formerly Twitter) I saw this post that caught my attention. Which is honestly the inspiration for this. The post was about potential people that can take over the offensive coordinator position. If or when the Eagles let Brian Johnson walk. The list was nice and honestly, I kind of agreed with the thought of people who could take over and possibly be an upgrade to Johnson.

Duce Staley:

Honestly this is my favorite. The truth is that Duce Staley has no experience as a OC. At least from my knowledge. But the truth is that though he has no experience it doesn't mean he doesn't know how to run an offense. Being that he was a player for a long time and has sat behind really good offensive coordinators all while playing and being a running backs coach. Gives me hope that he is more than capable of game planning and calling plays. His offense would run on the running game and play action. Like a west coast system or a zone running scheme. Which let's be honest here the Eagles are built and has always been built to run the ball. So having someone like Duce Staley at the helm would be great. His dedication would be to the running and play action game. Honestly, I wish the Eagles would've given him the chance he's deserved for the longest of time. Maybe this time after this season, the Eagles would look back and actually give him a shot as OC.

Frank Reich:

Experience can be a beautiful thing, and Frank Reich has plenty of it. Not only was he a OC and head coach. But he was the OC for the Eagles when the Eagles won the Super Bowl. So clearly, he has a very special place in our hearts. Yes, I know his stints in both Indianapolis and Carolina ended very ugly. But let's be honest here. Not every coordinator can be a great head coach. Honestly, I think he's a heck of an offensive coordinator outside of his play calling this season with the Panthers. Having him just dedicated to one side of the ball and focus just on the offense is what he needs. Having him back as an Eagle can honestly help the Eagles offense tremendously. This Eagles team is so much more stacked in talent than when he was with the Eagles with Doug Pederson. So, I can only imagine what he can do with the talent that's on this team now!

Josh McCown:

This one is a long shot, but I like the idea. Josh McCown was never a great quarterback by any means. But this man has a lot of knowledge and knows the game very well. Outside of that, he's played in many systems and has been around good coaches and quarterbacks. What does this mean? This means that he has the mind to step into a position of an OC and truly start a career that can truly flourish. He has the mind to do it. And is more than capable of helping Jalen Hurts grow as well. At this point with Brian Johnson calling the plays, I can only imagine how much better Josh McCown can do with a talented offense that the Eagles have.

Josh McDaniels?:

So, this one is just one I'm going to throw in here as a hail marry. Josh McDaniels may have been a terrible head coach in both his stints. But We cannot deny that as an offensive coordinator he is really good. He may end up back with the Patriots. But the thought of him joining a team with talent in every position has to be somewhat enticing to him. He's one of those coaches that may never be good as a head coach, which time has somewhat already proven it. Yet, as an OC time has shown that he has been really good. And yes, he had a Tom Brady ran offense for years. But imagine him scheming things with a dual threat like Jalen Hurts. That's something I wouldn't mind seeing.

All in all, I feel as though the Eagles need to make moves to get another OC in. Brian Johnson has shown little change and has had problems adapting throughout the season. Honestly as a fan I think I've seen enough. How about you?
