Welcome! Thoughts On The Season So Far!

So, what do you think about the Eagles season so far? Right now, we're sitting at 4-0 but yet with a lot of questions surrounding the team. Most people feel as though we haven't shown up. While others think we haven't been clicking on all cylinders this year so far. My thoughts?

Possible Regression:

Honestly, I had spoken about this to a co-worker about a month before the season started. I told him that I believed that a regression of some sort was bound to happen. He asked me what I meant by that. It was honestly hard to explain to be very honest. I know that we made some moves and got a few players via trade, free agency, and draft. But there was something in my gut that wasn't sitting right.

The reality that I came across was that other teams are now going to have genuine film on Hurts and having a new OC and DC was probably going to stall any big growth on both sides of the ball. Which to be very honest and fair, we haven't looked as good as last year so far. Now don't get me wrong, we have had some amazing plays. But consistency has not been our best friend this year so far. We've had to many close games against some teams that I feel we should have beaten in an extraordinary way if we've gotten better that is.

But the fact that Jalen Hurts has thrown more picks these few games in the season compared to last year in the same number of games if I'm not mistaken. Can be a possible cause of concern. Yet me personally, I'm not so concerned about it. The reason being is that this year like I said early in this post. Teams now have more film on Hurts and now know what he's best at and what he isn't. They are going to have better gameplans against him. So, with that said I wouldn't be surprised if he has more INT's this year compared to last. I just hope he doesn't force any balls into the wrong reads.

Trying To Gel?

This here is what I truly believe. With a new OC and DC calling the plays, though similar styles as last year. The team still has to get adjusted to the play calling from their new play callers. As well as the play callers are going to have learning pains, meaning we are going to have watching pains unfortunately. But honestly I think this will be short lived.

I personally believe the pieces we have will gel a lot quicker, example Swift. I think that by week 7 hopefully no later than that. We will be showing the NFL we are here to win it all! Which I believe by that time, we will be healthy and more consistent as a unit on both offense and defense.

Final Thoughts:

I think these analysts are talking to much about whether or not the Eagles look good or not. I've seen the power rankings on the NFL website and feel as though they are not giving us the credit we deserve as an unbeaten team. The Score on the other hand has, which is honestly well appreciated.

Yes, I can understand what they are saying and their thoughts. But come on now! not giving the Eagles the credit they deserve being undefeated. Come on now, the Dolphins have a loss to a team that lost to the Jets on week one. No offense to Bills fans, yet they put the Dolphins ahead of the Eagles. Okay, they had a great game with 70 points against a team that is beyond terrible this year. Heck even the Texans are a better team than a Russell Wilson led team at this point with a rookie starting.

My point is this, yes, we haven't played to our full capabilities. But yet we are undefeated and still growing as a team. There is a lot of football left, and honestly, I can't wait to see this team grow throughout the season!
