A QB/WR Duo That's Been Unstoppable

Going into week 8 of the season there's only one other QB/WR duo that surpasses Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown. That duo was defeated and put to rest by the Eagles defense. That combo was none other than Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill. But we're not here to talk about them. We're here to talk about a chemistry an Eagles team hasn't seen in a very long time. And I will not lie, it's great to finally see this. A quarter back that trust his receiver and a receiver that can honestly make the plays.

How good is AJ Brown?

Do I need to pull out stats for this question? The truth is this year so far Brown has 52 receptions for 809 yards and 3 TD's. Now I know that the TD's aren't much. Wish that number would be higher. But he's second in yards right behind Tyreek Hill with less than a hundred yards to reach Hill. His 52 receptions are fourth in the league. The truth is that he's on another level this year. The man has consistently been open and if not open he is fighting tooth and nails for the ball. Based off of his performance so far this year and of course last year. I'm sure the Titans are looking at the trade as a major mistake. Though it may have been a mistake for them, it has truly been a major win for the Eagles.

Outside of his numbers what do I see that makes him so good? Well, this guy is physical, Brown isn't the fastest, but he sure has some speed. His route running is smooth and truly a thing of beauty. No, he doesn't run routes like his current teammate DeVonta Smith. Or wide receivers known for their route running abilities. But he uses his eyes and hips really well. He gets cornerbacks to make mistakes by using his eyes and hips giving them a false sense of direction. And if he doesn't get open, he's open. His physicality and hands are some of the bests in the league. This man plays basketball on the football field using his body to box out opposing DB's.

Not only that when he goes up or if he has defenders on him. If his hands touch the ball, he's coming down with it in most cases. Defenders have a tough time guarding him because his style of play. This man wants to beat you and make sure you know he's beating you. He's not just a slant specialist and someone that can just run after the catch. But he's a jump ball kind of guy too. It's very rare to have his combination of skill and physicality in the league and actually be able to use it all in harmony. But he's found a way to and has a quarterback willing to give him the ball.

Jalen Hurts chemistry with AJ Brown:

Outside of AJ Brown just being a beast in itself. A wide receiver does need a quarterback to throw the ball to them. Hense, here comes Jalen Hurts. Hurts has tried to recruit him in college before if I'm not mistaken. But that didn't come into fruition. Though it didn't happen the two didn't stop talking to each other. Outside of the fact they had a possibility to play on the same team in college but didn't happen. They still became friends, and once again this time as an Eagle. Jalen Hurts wanted him to join the team. This time it happened, Howie Roseman worked his magic on the phones and got Brown into an Eagles uniform.

The outcome? Well let's just say a true number one that has grown a chemistry with his quarterback that Eagles fans haven't seen in quite some time. Hurts trusts Brown so much that he knows he can throw a prayer ball and feel confident that AJ Brown is going to come down with it. Hurts trust in Brown is going to be something of a beauty going forward, and something Eagles fans want to keep for as long as we can. The Eagles have failed in drafting, signing, and trading for wide receivers for a long time. But since Drafting DeVante Smith and trading for AJ Brown it looks like the table has finally turned. I know I'm looking for more of that Hurts and Brown connection for years to come, how about you?
